Fitterli began at a 3 day startup event called Technion 3DS. It was here that the majority of the founders met and began the journey of creating a startup whose goal is to bring 3D body scanning technology to the masses. Users scan themselves using a scan-at-home application on their laptop or tablet and then can use their Avatars and body measurements for a wide range of services.
Fitterli won the 3DS event and, as a result, was automatically accepted into BizTec, an exciting entrepreneurship program at the Technion. BizTec is divided into a number of stages, the first being the e-School. It was here that we were introduced to lawyers, accountants, investors and other startup founders.
It was a rich and informative period and we learned many of the crucial elements necessary to create a successful startup. We then pitched our idea and were accepted into the final stage called the BizTec pre-accelerator. It was here that we really began to understand what it takes to create a startup. Absolute commitment, dedication and passion are all necessities if you want your venture to flourish. Going out of the building and engaging your potential customers is crucial to understanding their needs and catering your product towards these needs. In addition, getting critical feedback is part of the process and knowing when to incorporate relevant criticism is an art in itself.
We were lucky enough during this stage to win the Intel Business Challenge Europe from a pool of 4000 startups from around Europe. This involved travelling to Lithuania and subsequently San Francisco where we competed in the world finals. We were exposed to a number of successful startups and better understood the investor mentality in Silicon Valley. We are now at a stage where are almost finished developing our technology and need to further validate our market whilst looking to raise funds in parallel. We would like to thank BizTec for their help and guidance and hope to be one of a host of successful Israeli startups.
