In March 2002 TechIA Forum's was founded. Its objective was to promote entrepreneurship, develop innovative ventures and enhance the collaboration between the Technion and the Hi-Tech industry. The Forum has been organizing events and activities ever since. Today it has evolved into BizTEC and is based on a large community of over a 1000 Technion graduate students, faculty and alumni, all sharing the entrepreneurial spark.

The Forum' events and workshops combine presentations, panels, open discussion and networking sessions. The speakers hosted by the forum are leading members of the Israeli industry, managers of venture capital (VC) firms and other professionals related to the entrepreneurial world. The speakers share their experience insights and views on the founding of new ventures.

In order to encourage learning and entrepreneurship, TechIA Forum created in 2005 the BizTEC competition. 101 teams competed in the first competition with the winner receiving 50K NIS, and 30K NIS and 20K NIS going to the runners up. BizTEC competition is now the nation's premier business plan competition teaching students how to turn their ideas into companies.
